My name is Michael Stella and I was born and raised in Henderson, Nevada. Growing up in the desert I have a deep appreciation for the outdoors and public lands. I never miss an opportunity to go camping, fishing or skiing. I am an undergraduate student at Colorado State University, studying Political Science with a focus on environmental policy as well as Journalism with a focus on strategic communication. I know that I will work in the political sphere as it is what I am most interested in.
What I care most about
I care deeply about the climate crisis, as it is affecting my home town more than most other places in America. Henderson and Las Vegas are the fastest warming cities in America, we have the 12th worst air quality and Lake Mead is facing its first ever Federally declared water shortage. Growing up on the front lines of the climate crisis has had an influential impact on me.
